Ouroboros Calendar

A loveletter to the Ouroboros typeface created by Ariel Martín Pérez for the Velvetyne type foundry. Please allow images to fully load for just a few seconds.

Insatiable appetite — Fully screenprinted!

This calendar page solidifies it’s footing in medival French culture. All of the glyphs echo back to illuminated manuscripts and modern day mosiac tiling found in public transit stations in greater Europe. The history of this typeface is rich and vibrant, and is still legible when set in a paragraph although requires a bit of squinting. As a souvenir calendar page for the month of February, I wanted it to feel like a cherishable object and so the entire page is silkscreened on Mohawk paper, ensuring its care and existance years after February 2025 has passed.
